IDC: Apple’s iPad Pro outsold all Surface tablets in holiday quarter

Industry analysts IDC have released new data on estimated sales of various tablets and what the company calls “detachables,” with Apple’s iPad Pro handily beating all comers to cause iPads generally to remain both the dominant dedicated tablet, with the iPad Pro now the leading “detachable,” meaning a “hybrid” notebook that uses a tablet for its display that can also be used independently, like the Surface. The report comes on the heels that the iPad Pro accounts for 12 percent of all iPad sales, just six weeks after its debut….
