China sees rush of new Apple Pay users on first day

A local Apple spokesman in China has noted that an inrush of new Apple Pay signups from users on the first day of availability in China yesterday has resulted in some delays and problems with letting users add their credit or debit cards to the service, but that problems would be “resolved soon.” Unlike in the United States, Apple Pay in China has launched out of the gate with support from 80 percent of the country’s card issuers, and many large retailers, who — like most non-US countries — have had NFC support in point-of-sale terminals for years….
